  • None, should all work well

  • Cool.

Campag Potenza 11 speed is another option, but I may be limited to a braze on front mech hanger, which the frame doesn't have.

  • Oh, you can get clamps that take braze on mechs. Nice.

  • Silver Potenza Groupo seems nice. Leaving this here as a note to my future self.

  • I have struggled with Potenza for a long time. I'd love to have it on one of my bikes but you can buy Ultegra soooooo much cheaper. I think Chain Reaction had Potenza on a deal but with an unusual combination of components.

  • I used to be Campag only from riding vintage-more modern 11spd and sadly today the quality of the workmanship just isn't there at anything under Chorus, which is very spendy relative to SRAM or Shimano.

I found 2007 Veloce still had a quality of construction close to Ultegra but today even Athena is like fucking cheese-cheap alloy nuts in the levers that strip when you fasten them and really shitty ratchets. Now on SRAM for everything because I hate Shimano shifters. Not seen Potenza in the flesh but I'd be wary...

  • I just don't they no I can put those Shimano cranks on this bike. I hate the looks of rhe.m.

I have read a couple of reviews of Potenza that sound good, although they do say that the main difference to Chorus is the materials used. Alu intead of Crabon I presume.

    Anyone on here ride Potenza?

  • I don’t personally ride it but the claim that is the same as Chorus is wrong, as Potenza has Powershift while Chorus has Ultrashift, plus Potenza has Powertorque crank axle (revised from the PITA first version) while Chours has Ultratorque axle.
Ultrashift alone makes Chorus an obvious choice between the two groupset.

  • Powershift
    Ultrashift
    Powertorque
    Ultratorque

This is why I always avoid campag. I cannot for the life of me understand what the fuck they are ever talking about.

  • Why don't you buy an old fashioned steel bike and put a modern groupset on it. It's beautiful.

  • Like this:

  • 3 off my mates have campagnlo and i have had mirage .Campagnlo for the looks but Shimano for valve and performance which is what i want from a groupset .

  • This Eddy Merckx has potenza on it and my mate loves it.

  • Thats nice love the lugs and dura ace .

  • Coz that is a poorly fitting bike/rider

  • It is very simple to understand, although the naming itself sounds terrible.

Going back to what to use, I would personally avoid any current Campagnolo groupset, why the hell did they change the front derailleur design and made it identical to the old and terrible long arm Shimano ones?

  • Impossible to tell. You can't do bike fitting from a picture on the internet.

  • Of course not, I mean the only things that matter are the relative positions of the pedals, saddle and handlebars. Any combination of dimensions below that give you the same contact point positions can work. But with 10cm of seatpost and no saddle to bar drop/spacer stack suggests inflexible rider and/or "wrong" frame size

    #internetbikefit

  • You right the frame is a bit large for him and he has a back issue his other bike is a bit better fit

  • That Pinarello is well tasty

  • There still don't seem to be any great images of it, but I still think Dammit's Serotta is a pretty decent example of classic frame with modern groupset done right

  • And this one
