I’ve recently moved from London to Hastings, it’s changed a fair bit for the better since I grew up here. It’s a good mix of seaside, countryside, art/music buzz and cheap housing.
As mentioned above, Bexhill is dead.
I don’t know Lewes so well but I’ve always thought it was quite small and quiet but well connected to roads and trains. Excellent college if that has any bearing. Would have thought it’s ‘commuter belt’ in terms of housing costs.

Thanks Jaw, i have a little knowledge of Hastings as I used to visit as kid, maybe im looking through rose tinted speks,
hadn't thought of Lewes will look at it more 👍
