No longer a subject expert but have lived 6 years in that area, last time was in 2002 mind.
Bexhill is God’s waiting room. Nice countryside but not a lot to do there. Hastings has apparently brushed up nicely. Eastbourne has nice property in the town centre but is getting more expensive by the week.
If I had to go back down there I’d choose Lewes, great connectivity, nice town, good beer and proximity to Brighton.

There is a good chance im moving back to london, im currently living in a place that has a very low crime rate, looking at local london news it seems to be getting worse in terms of violent low level crime. Is it getting worse or have i just been softened up by my current situation ?
Another option was to try living on the south coast but not sure where was thinking Bexhill / Hastings but has anyone got any other suggestions for south coast...not brighton
