Impressive.

Not quite as bad as that but I once locked my bike outside the Apple Tree in Clerkenwell and when I came back to it a few hours later I couldn't find the key.... Brief moment of panic, then spotted I'd left it sticking out of the lock. Did feel silly and lucky.

Did something similar. After a few hours in the pub I go to unlock my bike, find my key is missing from the rest of my set. Found it in the road about 2m away.
It just goes to show that most people aren't twats, it's only the small minority that are.

Well, only if you assume they knew the bike was available for stealing. You could also say "it just goes to show that most people are effectively half-blind". The truth is probably somewhere in between
