  • 2 train stations with Hither Green as 3rd walkable option.
Better cycling route into town (all back roads till Lewisham, Q1 after)
More and more cafes with menus in Gotham, flat whites and craft beer in walking proximity
    At least two decent pubs
    The Turkish shops and restaurants
    Corbett Estate

  • Yeah , yeah, stop all that frivolous spending obvs, but please buy these lovely Nespresso machines that we're splashing all over every inch of our website!

  • yeah but... parquet flooring.

  • Sydenham all the way.
Seriously. 2 main stations, close to CP for even bigger than wells park.
    College road is private

    Downside:
    HILLY AS FUCK
    I'll be a neighbour

  • I think Catford is winning ;)

    College road is private

I'll give you that but its an oasis in otherwise awful commute after. Walworth road >>>>>>>

  • No need to do Walford Road at all.

We left Sydenham earlier this year, didn't want to but needed a bigger place. My other half was keen on looking at Catford, and I did , but seriously all this hype about the Corbett estate and it's got no pubs! The kicker was when we walked out of one (admittedly nice house) only to look up the hill towards the setting sun and see Crystal Palace in the distance, then around me at Catford :(

    Seriously Sydenham >>>> Catford.

  • You're doing it wrong.
Walworth road is clearly for winners who like riding bikes fast. Bus lanes all the way, denmark hill, off denmark hill, dulwich, home.

  • I’d go Sydenham over Catford every day of the week.

Probs because I’ve got a soft spot for @Chalfie

  • So...just don't go out, take lunch to work, make your own meals at home, don't go on holiday, forget the Lottery and keep your mobile for FIVE years and you should be good to 'stretch up to that all-important first rung'. Simple, eh?!

I basically did this. It's why I'm such a bitter, boring asshole.

  • Well for us commute into town is of high importance as both of us cycle, with that in mind Catford is optimal with all those other benefits. I am not even a (pub) person.

  • The up park is crying out for your return.

  • Commute into town?
    WTF.
    E&C and then a bridge.

  • I wouldn't like my loved ones to take OKR or Walworth road in peak hours or Burgess park/Surrey Canal path in the dark.

  • Q7 innit. I have a decent commute as far as London goes (Penge - Euston).

  • 10 years sydenham / catford beef starts here.

    #onlythedeadshallknowpeace

  • Q7

you can't just put a number next to 'Q'

  • I blame you.

Lets stop in-fighting within SE postcodes and focus on the real enemy; north London.

  • And millennials; sandwich buying shits!

  • Walworth Road is a fucking doddle.

  • If thats true then Brexit didn't happen, London in Amsterdam and I am white.

  • Can you actually ride a bike?

  • update: offer accepted on chez sydenham so that's a go. at least until this one goes tits up.

soz catfrod - we'll always have that one cup of coffee and a cheese toasty in Archibald's.

i may need to buy a bike with gears.

    #teammumbike

  • Its not for me.

  • fun fact: the low ball offer that we made on the sydenham place is the same as the full asking price offer we made on the catford place that went south.

moral of the story: go low.
