What's a stability bank?
Mine has been fine since install. SP hub(s) + Supernova Triple + D1 prototype

It's a bigger version of the (super)capacitor that's added to the original prototype D1. It smooths the incoming pulses from the dynamo at low speed.

Basically the earlier models sometimes suffered a flaw that cooked the PCB, which for me resulted in the Supernova E3 Pro 2 front and Tail light dimming, while the unit made devices appear to charge without actually providing any power. The new unit works an absolute treat though, and has two USB charging ports which can keep two devices going all day.

According to the lovely chap from Igaro they can both be wired straight in at the the dynamo hub, although that might just be for Supernova's. It worked for me for a while but I ended up having problems with my charging unit because it was one of the earlier ones without a stability bank.
