Popped into Red Army Watches in Singapore. Really liked the Zeppelin for its vintage look. The Sturmanskie is cool for being a replica of the first watch in space (this is contested). The Itay Noy was bonkers, handmade by only one guy with a full custom movement. If you find yourself in Singapore I recommend going there the manager was a great guy really enthusiastic

It is my understanding the contention is only between the definition of "worn in space". Although Gagarin wore the Sturmanskie when piloting Vostok 1, it was the Poljot Strela worn on the wrist of Leonov for the first space walk, therefore suggesting that the Strela is the true competitor of the Speedmaster (or the other way round?) in that it was worn in open space rather than the safety and relative comfort of a spaceship.

I've come into an old Rockford pocket watch. It's from 1890 and in pretty bad condition. As far as I can tell they're not particularly rare. I'd like to get it fixed. Imagine because of the age it's not something you just take to any watch shop, but maybe I'm wrong?

I have a question. My MWC G10LM which I have owned for about 5 years has decided to stop now and again for no reason. I have had Timpsons put a "lifetime guarantee battery" in it and ensure the terminals are clean and it has made no difference. I have left it on a cabinet for over a month and it has run perfectly but if I wear it it stops and stays stopped. If I pull the crown out and push it back in the watch starts again. Any ideas why?
Edit: It is of no sentimental or monetary value but I like it for its simplicity. -

Often when quartz watches become intermittent it's due to dirt and dried up oil in the mechanism. The increased load causes the watch to stop. Sometimes you can see that the seconds hand motion looks a bit erratic/shaky when they are struggling.

Thanks that's what I was hoping though I reckon I could probably buy a replacement for the cost of a clean.

looking for a modest priced military style diver -
Looked at Precista PRS 18Q but it's out of stock
Any similar style watches anyone would recommend?
Or in fact if anyone happened to be looking to sell -

Ha! I suppose if the army is issuing cheap Casio jobbies nowadays then you have to doubledown on your heritage and try and do a Rolex.

• #24547
I guess you could mod an skx
Oddly it's not very common.

There are some looky-likey ‘MWC’ ones on ebay, plus these seem to always get lots of bidding activity: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F382277372093
I cannot speak to the quality/suggested value of either

Found myself dangerously low on serviceable underpants, so on Sunday I crossed the river to Canary Wharf.
Decided to spend a bit of time 'window shopping'.
Then, shit got a bit out of control:
Any idea where a cheap Pepsi diver can be had?
A pal want to get one for her wife, but has minimal budget.
I've pointed her to Creation, but I've no personal experience with the shop
