This sounds awesome, I've been very tempted to order a waltly myself recently, how was your experience of ordering with them so far? How long from initial order to production and delivery?

Subscribed ;)

How much did the frame cost?

They've been fantastic to deal with, much better than XACD (who I also got to quote). The sales rep at Waltly is great, she's called Amy and is very responsive and helpful (and patient)!
Hopefully the frame will be finished next week (35 days from order), then I'm at the mercy of international shipping and customs.

I'll know the full cost after customs...
At the moment it's sub £700 including delivery (hefty)

Wow. Never knew you could do this. Very exciting

So far it has been remarkably straightforward - the interesting part will come when it arrives

Took a picture of all items acquired so far

Interested to hear what finishes they offer as couldn't see anything on website. Would love to have something like the firefly finish in a disc version

what seatpost did you get? i am looking for a post for my Pickenflick (Ti)
-

Standard is sand blasted but they offer brushed at no extra cost. You can specify logos and patterns and they charge 20 dollars for this. Not sure they offer a polished finish though.

I've had the post a few years. Got it from eBay for around £50 from a UK seller. Has been absolutely spot on!

I’ve wanted a Waltly since seeing this frame on WW

Walty are quite a reputable frame builder - they do all the PACT/On-One Ti frames via Brant Richards
-
• #16
Yeah they seem to be fairly well respected and everything I've read and seen online looks good...

Was there a weight specified for this build out of interest? Couldn't find it on the site.
-
• #18
6,690g apparently.
Not sure which wheelset that's with

• #19
Nice, that's not bad at all for Ti.

Is tiny tho

Not currently a fan of road bikes...but that kinda gets my jubblies going that.

Regarding tyre choice what are peoples thoughts?
I'm leaning away from tan walls as although they look great against Ti they're not the most practical for a winter bike build, maybe for the next summer build...
I have dabbled in tubeless before but did not get on with the Hutchinson Sector 28s...
Should I try tubeless again, if so what combination of sealant and tyres?
My safe option is GP4000s in 28mm as I have had them on other bikes and got on well with them

For all rounders, Michelin pro4 endurance are best I have found

Don't think you can ever go wrong with GP4000s

I’ve wanted a f/0.95 since seeing this frame on WW

After a bit of gentle persuasion by @pjhobs I have taken the plunge and ordered a custom Titanium frame from Waltly in China.
All being well the frame should arrive in the next few weeks so I thought it would be prudent to set up a thread for the build.
The frame is loosely based on the Kinesis GF Ti Disc and the J.Jack Laverack. So clearances for big tyres, mudguard and rack mounts. The geometry is based on a bike fit so should be spot on (hopefully).
For anyone who is interested in the frame drawings they are below
I've pretty much decided on spec but there are a few bits still to decide:
Frame: Waltly - Brushed Titanium with sand blasted graphics
Forks: Hongfu FK286 Carbon - 15mm Thru Axle
Stem: Fizik Cyrano R1
Bars: Fizik Cyrano R3
Headset: Chris King Inset 7 (black)
Post: Titanium inline
Saddle: Brooks C13
Wheels: Hunt Mason 4 Season
Groupset: Ultegra Hydraulic
Guards: PDW Full Metal Fenders Black
Tyres: GP 4000s 28mm
