more or less finished building this up, budget commuter/road+ build using an old 26" mtb frame. Should have clearance for 700x45. Bartape will be added once I'm happy with lever positioning, will probably desticker the wheels, too tacky for me. This was very much a budget build, spent a tad under 300£ altogether.

You're worried about the wheels when the frame decoration is that hideous? :)

Disc and tubs is appropriate for turbo trainer knee rehab, right?

cba to respray the frame, so wheels will have to do for now. Looks are secondary, I look shit anyways.

Those 3 holes in the lugs and shot in stays are usually the mark of a Strada Speciale and not a King of Mercia :). Very nice :D

My Principia rs6 is still an ongoing project, but with the addition of some tune tsr 27 wheels, it's getting there (Principia sold their bikes with tune hubs to open pro rims or the first generation Mavic Ksyrium SSC wheels. Mine came with the SSCs, but front was bust). Zipp SC 70 bars, 3T arx II pro stem (100 mm -6 deg), fabric scoop race flat saddle are my additions to the bike after I bought it.
Waiting for an inline thomson to test a slightly more forward position, and not settled on stem length or height of spacer stack just yet. Presently in winter mode (pouring rain today), weighs in at 8,2 kg as pictured, so should be sub 8 without guards.

I'm putting mudguards on a bike with an elevated chainstay. No mounting points around the bottom bracket area. Any ideas?
Derailleur pulley bracket and a looong spacer?

P clip on the chain stay, then a piece of metal with a 90 degree twist in it or a short piece of tube with ends crimped at 90 degrees. One end flat to the mudguards and the other claps in the pclip. But your idea Will be more sturdy

drill 2 holes in the mudguard and zip tie the guard at the seat tube near
the bottom bracket. I have done this when i f'ed up installing guards on
my winter hack. It seems to be reasonably solid. -

My only bike at the moment. The frame is not very light and a bit dull but i can't seem to part with it. I got it for nothing and it's so versatile. Should take me through another nordic winter. Will be fitting some 2.1-2.2" knobblies again for some better grip in the snow and some mudflaps. Waiting for a slightly larger chainring.
