Nobody should ever have to go to a bike shop. For anything.

Trying to put me out of a job?

You couldn't just go to a bike shop?
With the storm riling up on Uber’s employment tribunal, it’s too much of a risk.

At this point, the race should have pressed itself in from the weight of the agony of the followers of this thread.
@Velocio I think @Chak makes a valid observation that @amey is actually just trolling the forum now which is technically online bullying of the kind @estherrantzen would disapprove of.
I therefore suggest locking the thread and removing @amey's ability to start any new ones or upload pictures would be the most appropriate response.
Anyone who actually wants to see the hideous spawn of his unfettered consumerism can always check out radavist, or, in this case more likely http://www.pengytravelbike.com

In terms of storage/workshop space I suspect we have two options:
- Very easy
- Quite difficult
And I suspect that unless someone takes on 2 as a personal project it's going to be 1 all the way.
Here's roughly what I see as the options:
- Get a big room in one of the secure storage places, share the PIN with everyone who a) is "known" and b) puts some cash in.
- Get a unit, which will be much much larger and give the possibility of a workshop etc, but would have more security concerns than a secure storage facility - but a lot more flexibility. We could have a pretty significant workshop, maybe a paint area (if not actual booth) etc.
- Very easy

what happens if/when you lose paying members with option 1 for example? Same goes for 2 tbh.

You have their details and you send the boys round if anything goes missing

The secure storage is a monthly rolling deal - you could move the bikes down the corridor into a smaller room. Option 2 - thats' a problem.
I suspect for 2 to work we'd need someone to run a small business from the unit, and therefore be committed for at least six months.

Why have you got a wine cooler strapped to the top tube?

The Paul centre-pull looks like Jonny 5 from Short Circuit.

Hope that's not matte paint because that grease can stain it

I don't understand, admittedly I had very little sleep last night so my brains a bit frazzled, you bought a tool to put the thingy on, there is a pic of the thingy on, then off, and now it's at your lbs. I guess my point being, what the fuck for?
-
• #2021
Not my tool, borrowed. Don't drive and refuse to Uber to LBS, so made it ride-able at 34x11 and dropped at the shop to finish gear cabling and cut the steerer.
-
• #2022
You’re paying a shop to put cables on for you? They’re laughing all the way to the bank
-
• #2023
Do you have someone come over and wipe your arse?
Finish gear cabling!?! -

It's ok, I saved money on the groupset. I am on my way to collect my other bike that I left for dynamo cabling with SBC cycles.
