  • The clock on your computer is wrong.

Nonsense. @JesperXT is using a version of LFGSS which can look a few minutes into the future. Use your power wisely, Jesper.

  • I dont seem to be able to edit my posts that contain photos

    Is this a known thing?

edit - seems to just be in classifieds

  • Probs a great reason for it but why, if I click in someone's profile, can't I see ride threads that they've started in their threads?

  • I dont seem to be able to edit my posts that contain photos

    Embeds or attachments?

  • both - but seems to just be in classifieds when i cant amend the original post

  • Locked threads shouldn't have an edit button on your posts, that's the bug. I don't think you can unlock your own threads, you need to get an administrator to do it for you. There's a workaround - if you click on the post number to get the post on its own page, you get the editing box and you can save changes after making any edits required. I've tested this on one of my locked classified threads, and it works for both the first and subsequent posts. To edit the thread title, click on the "Edit Conversation" button in the right margin.

  • thanks - i can now edit my posts, but cant add a new comment - i get the no bumping rule but I thought it was ok to reduce prices

  • cant add a new comment

To do that, you need to get the thread unlocked

  • It's got nothing to do with bumping: you've locked the threads.

  • @Velocio
I just tried to save the photo in this post, https://www.lfgss.com/comments/13943865/
but it came up as a .webp rather than a jpeg.
My computer playing up or something on the site?
Please remember to pitch your answer at the level of a fairly bright 10 year old.
    thanks.

  • Images are losslessly optimised by image conversion to another format... Typically saves around half the bandwidth.

    This makes browsing faster.

But we only do it for browsers that support it... namely Chrome.

To download images as the original format... Use another browser 🙂 none of the others support webp, so they'll be slower but at least you'll get a jpg

  • I'm on Chrome, I know that because of the little coloured circle, it's rather pretty I always think. I'll try Firefox which I also have on my PC, I know that because of the nice picture of a fox chasing its tail, rather a lovely image. I've also got Opera but I don't use it because it looks like a robot's vagina.
    Thanks!

  • Yeah just noticed and had to go around it to save a JPG:

    • right-click on the image and Copy Image Address
    • use whatever other tool you have to download the image from the copied address (i.e. anything that's not Chrome): wget, curl, other browser etc...
  • Or just download the webp and convert to jpg in Irfanview, if it's necessary for sharing purposes but re-encoding artefacts are not important.

  • it looks like a robot's vagina

It also lost all the good features after v12, but apparently it does now support webp.

  • Yeah just noticed

It's been like it for six months.

Saves a load of bandwidth and really increased page load times on mobile.

  • really increased page load times

I hope you mean decreased :)

  • a mix of me been using FF / Edge for a while or hadn't had to download them.

'hadn't had / did not have / didn't. had / something else' to?

  • Thumbnails of attached pictures (sometimes?) overlap in threads with a lot of pictures. Example:

    Thread: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/312891/

Browser: Chrome (version 61.0.3163.100 (Official Build) (64-bit)) on Windows 10, same for macOS.

  • Edit: This seems to be a Chrome issue I think. Seeing it on other websites as well.

I have the zoom on Chrome on 90% by default, and out of the blue (since yesterday) it's showing a scroll bar for some all quotes:

    https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/153782/?offset=75475#13930139

When I zoom in to 100% or out to 80% it disappears.

Browser: Chrome (version 61.0.3163.100 (Official Build) (64-bit)) on Windows 10.

  • Small visual bug, but the Bike Porn thread appears to have too many views / comments and breaks the views comments onto two lines in the today/following views. Possibly just needs an abbreviation

  • the Bike Porn thread appears to have too many views / comments and breaks the views comments onto two lines in the today/following views.

It's been over 5 months! Literally unbrowsable.

    Possibly just needs an abbreviation

    @Velocio seems to agree:

So... it looks like I'll have to get rid of numbers and replace them with something else beyond some point.

    i.e.

    • < 1,000 = show precise numbers
    • 1,000 >= 999,999 = {n}k, i.e. 87,986 = 87k
    • > 1,000,000 = {n}m, i.e. 87,986,342 = 87m
  • Has there been a font change? Things are looking slightly different to me this morning.

  • @Velocio

Is it possible to embed a google sheet document onto the forum?

The embed code given by google doesn't work

  • I could probably make that work in the way that map embeds work.

Can you provide an example of both the URL to the sheet, and the embed code Google gave you.

Use the code button on the toolbar to paste them in
