The 2 speed isn't that might lighter than the SA 3sp (a kilo, maybe?) but it's simpler. I have 2sp myself, and I actually found it a bit over-geared with the stock gearing (13/16t sprockets, 54t chain ring) so I swapped mine out for a 50t. I do live near Crystal Palace tho, which is a bit lumpy.
