What's the purpose of the cable to the saddle? Electric dropper post?

cable to the saddle? Electric dropper post?
Is wired electric dropper even a thing? I don't follow modern MTB trends, but it seems like the wireless Magura one should have put the nail in that particular coffin even if anybody was contemplating such a development. Tom's one is surely just the common or garden remote Bowden cable operated dropper.

No, just a normal bowden cable. It's externally routed, rather than internally or lever actuated. Production Privée in their great wisdom didn't seem to believe in bottle cage bosses or internal dropper ports.

My mtb knowledge is basically non-existent, I was just wondering what the cable is for and remembered that I saw an electric dropper post sometime ago, didn't even know there where bowden cable operated ones but it makes more sense I guess. The electric ones are still available apparently but not externally wired. https://www.hibike.de/magura-vyron-elect-vario-sattelstutze-31-6x446mm-hub-150mm-schwarz-p54a000d8cc782af0b85ca43ab2b421e4?gclid=EAIaIQobChMImuHou66l1wIV4xXTCh1dSQnoEAQYASABEgKScfD_BwE
edit: misread your comment as 'electric dropper posts are no longer a thing'. -

Pfft that not buyer talk

actually I tried this originally (with zip ties) and it didn't work as well. Got cable rub, the housing loop stuck out more when it was dropped, and it often caught a bit on the way up, leaving the post ever so slightly actuated, so it would slowly descend as I sat on it.

Also the Oka has a 32.8 seat clamp diameter, and I'm allergic to laser etching

Inspired by @vp1337 s Marin, picked up a 91 Eldridge Grade for cheaps (sorry for shit pic):
Paint is pretty faded, not too sure what to do with it. Was thinking drops, but the matchy stem + bars are kinda nice, so will probably keep those (initially). Black components would probably look best.

scored a new headset on eBay for a great price.
now looking to upgrade this steamroller fork to a carbon one with similar rake, tyre clearance and drilled at the top (i.e. no disc brake mounts etc) and it has to obviously be 1/1'8th. (suggestions very welcome)
