Images are losslessly optimised by image conversion to another format... Typically saves around half the bandwidth.
This makes browsing faster.
But we only do it for browsers that support it... namely Chrome.
To download images as the original format... Use another browser 🙂 none of the others support webp, so they'll be slower but at least you'll get a jpg

but it came up as a .webp rather than a jpeg.
My computer playing up or something on the site?
