Had the first test run with only the front brake cabled and a single gear. It feels like the geometry is perfect except the seatpost being 2cm too short. I tried a double ring setup but the chain touches the big ring when running the smallest cog. So i ordered an FSA Megatooth chain ring and Sram 11speed 11-42 cassette and an sram nx rear derailleur to go with rival sti's. Hopefully i'll get it finished before 22nd of October because there is going to be a kind of cross country gravel alleycat thing which i'd like to participate.
The top cap i "fabricated" yesterday evening:

Cabled the rear brake and had a quick blast through the woods. It feels stiff and strong and stable. Did some fast descends and some hopping around. All well.
Here's a picture of the iron horse in front of its stable:

It is just missing the appropriate shifters but sadly the guy who has them doesn't react. I'm really surprised how good the bb7's work with jagwire keb-sl compressionless outers. Next step: racks. Obviously.

Glad to hear that, got the same brake setup planned.
Bike looks awesome, but you probably know that :) -

Who wants some rad pantographing for his noble classic italian road bike?
Finally the bike is all up and running. Fitting Brooks Cambium bar tape definitely is a nightmare!

thumbs up from me, looks ace. Where are you based out of interest?

Nice panto! How did you do it? haven't had great success with a dremel personally

Nice, I thought the architecture looked familiar-I just moved to Bernburg. From your username I take it you're not a native?

I am. But i chose the username based on a tv-hero.

It's done with a dremel. Using both hands to hold but it still is very hard to control.
I am going to buy a helmet, because this bike wants to go fast on every terrain and i am afraid of seriously hurting myself. :-)

What a brilliant home brew;)

Maybe now you can help Rivendell sort their shit out

Great stuff, digging the paint too.

The bike is a pleasure to ride. I have ordered thunder burt tires and have already changed the seatpost to the right length. SQ-Lab pedals with a longer spindle got my feet in a slightly outward bent position without the heels touching the chain stays. Today i started to build a front rack.
On a side note: I still suck at taking pictures

So good, love the paintjob!
