I know I ran down a few a couple of years back and I've lost count of the amount of samples I've been sent. I've pretty much settled on these two which have a decent whack of Citrulline Malate, Beta Alanine and aminos.
Smart-Tec Xcelr8 Raw (per 25g serving) - 3.2g BA, 2g C. Malate, 400mg caffeine, only comes in Mango Ice Tea flavour and tastes awful. £20
Reflex Muscle Bomb (per 15g serving) - 4g C. Malate, 1.6g BA, 125mg caffeine, also tastes bad but black cherry is weirdly moreish. £25-£30 also comes in a caffeine free version.
Both come from certificated factories in the UK. -

I'm the worst for reviewing shit like that.
"Did it keep me awake enough to ride to the gym? Yes. GREAT PRODUCT!"
I'll see what I can do. I can at least compare it to CNP GFX+, instant coffee and espresso.

Mango Ice Tea? pukesoncock.gif
Cherry? pukesoncock.gif (although they do have a fruit punch version which might work) -

Check out athleat.com their stuff is superb. Grass fed beef, free range chicken etc. Mainly scottish produce. A little pricier than supermarkets but not really, especially not when you consider the quality and taste differential, never mind better animal welfare.

Fruit Punch in energy/gym products can mean anything.
Cherry in anything other than Cherry Ripes is always bad. -

Cool, tx.
I was going to sort that out, just order free range meat (NI has some good suppliers too) and stock the freezer, don't mind paying a bit more and eating a bit less :)

Looking at MyPre... They included 3g of DAA in there? Nice if you're trying for kids.
-
• #1739
Hmm... 3g dose didn't have a significant effect though I wonder what it's included for? I thought I read it was meant to boost testosterone not reduce it.
1.5g per scoop shouldn't do much. Might calm me down :)I don't get it. Every site I read says something different about it.

Well it increases fertility for lesser fertile men, so bro-science logic...
Plenty of DAA based boosters on the market, too. There have been a couple of studies that concluded a mild short term increase at lower doses. -

I got the blue raspberry flavour. It tastes fucking terrible.
It doesn't dissolve as well as CNP - I stir slowly into a glass, no shaker - it did eventually stop clumping.
Effects much the same, it woke me up and seemed to have more beta alanine tingle than CNP. My guts weren't great the night before but I didn't shit myself during my workout so that's a plus. I only used one scoop. Other than the taste and the stupid bright blue colour no real negatives to report. I feel tired now but I do have a cold so again not sure the 'come down' can be blamed on the pre-workout.

I’ve only tried the orange. It is ok for taste - just ok though.
Thanks for the update -

Hit the gym for the first time in 2 weeks or so on Tuesday, it's hit me hard, I can barely walk today! Any advice on easing back in?!
-
• #1744
You shouldn't have lost any strength in two weeks (unless you'd tapered to peak hard beforehand) and certainly not any work capacity. Just recover hard to minimise soreness and stiffness; foam roll, eat enough protein, etc... Get a massage if you want
If you really are struggling, and next session is just as bad, cut volume down (sets/reps, not weight) and slowly add it back each week as you get used to it again.

Always find a gentle swim helps.

Rest, eat plenty of the right thing, lots of fluids. It’s classic reaction to a couple of weeks off - go in on a fucking mad one at the gym and knacker yourself for the next 3 days. We’ve all been there!
Lil swim sounds like a good idea. Also maybe try working alternate muscle groups (I.e back & chest) slightly lighter than normal.

Off the bike and gym this week with a head cold/man flu. Had just been getting back into a good rhythm getting back to PBs for Dl and BP. :,(

There is none. Embrace the DOMS.
Actually active recovery works best for me - keep all those fucked up muscles moving.
Wait, 2 weeks? I was off for like 5 months.

Why stop? I find exercise great for clearing all those blocked sinuses. As you can tell from the huge trails of snot all over my commute, gloves, shorts, jacket, etc..

Cheers all, I'll be back in there tomorrow to make sure I can only be carted around at my inlaws over the weekend
Yep their sausages are nice!
For some reason my Tesco doesn't stock the Heck chicken ones :s
Free range chicken sausage would be the dream :)
