Yeah, I found both standard gears a little spinny for the commute. I think 58t gives 60" and 80" gears.
I commute over Finsbury park/seven sisters, so mildly hilly but nothing too steep and get up both in the 58/12.
I think I averaged 23.something* mph for the bwc and 58t was still too spinny for that. Think some of the more serious guys were running 60t chainrings... 58t 130bcd narrow wide is about £20 from AliExpress.
Edit: just checked, 22.4mph for bwc.
TBH 2spd sounds sensible, as does 58T as 54x12 was was too spinny when I did nocturne
