  • Does anyone know of a lightning to aux adapter/cable that doesn't destroy the sound quality? My Apple adapter makes a whistling sound and the cheap cable I got from Amazon lasted all of 45 minutes.

  • I don't know much about the electronics involved but science would dictate that the headphone impedance and sensitivity need to be well matched to that type of connection to avoid problems. After all that port will likely have some electrical noise on it since it works for data/power and now audio.

    A lightning headphone pre might sort you out but it's an extra box to lug around.

  • I use a combination of Lightening Camera kit thing which gives a USB, then a Dragonfly USB DAC. Bit bulkier but both fit into my earphone case. Great sound quality but will set you back over £100 though...
