  • To be fair to skinny, with cyclists it doesn't matter whether they pull or don't pull any punches. :)

  • Speak for yourself

  • Think it was too much too soon for Andy. Soon as he showed potential he was leading GTs. Think he also had trouble coping with the pressure.

  • The broken pelvis he suffered in 2012 essentially ended his career, he never fully recovered from that.

I’ve no idea if he doped or not, just the same as Phil Gaimon. You can link him to doping facilitators, but that’s true for most of his generation. What was clear was that he was talented from the off, he finished second in his first GT, which is usually taken as having natural talent.

Who knows though, apart from him?

  • And then Epping Forest. Cycling past there often memories how fleeting life can be.

  • Carlton Kirby proving he's as unfunny on twitter as he is in the commentary box:

  • I know, you just pull punctures.

Yes, but on the plus side we now have him on here to analyse bike racing for us.

  • I’ve been listening to this on my commute today, Phil Gaimon interviewing Tom Danielson.

I found it interesting, a different perspective than normal and I’m less hostile to Danielson now than I was before.

  • Found this old snap; 1995, I think, Loudenvielle. Herminio Diaz Zabala in the pink ONCE jersey, Jalabert in green behind Indurain.

  • Infact that was the day Fabio Casartelli died.

  • I enjoyed that too. It was awkward at times. Seemed like Danielson hadn't previously considered who the victims of doping actually were.

  • Barguil has a sudden change of heart or is he simply setting lower expectations to begin with?..

  • Said that since the start of the season, hence him going for polka dots

  • didn't realise kennaugh is going to Bora. Could be good.
Presume he'll be stage hunting at the tour.

  • Surely with sagan still there as well he'll be doing leadouts?

  • Assume so, but free reign on stages that suit him. Also can send him up the road and let team off doing work, for stages that suit sagan.

  • I think he's been promised leadership in week long stage races. He's always been too versatile for his own good, and this has stymied his time at Sky, but he has long held ambitions to be a GC rider stemming from his time as an U23 rider.

The story goes that when Brailsford said that Team Sky's goal was to win the Tour with a British rider within 5 years, Kennaugh was the rider he had in mind to achieve that goal. He's obviously not scaled those heights, but he's still only 28 and is clearly very talented so you'd hope he has his best years ahead of him.

  • All is well at Movistar

  • Great interview with Conor Dunne in the latest Cycling Podcast, seems like a lovely bloke.

  • I kind of feel sorry for Landa, he’s never had a free run at a GT as sole leader. But then he keeps signing for teams where he has to share leadership. You’d think he’d learn the second time.

  • I doubt his bank account is complaining
