    The common problem with the various awards and competitions within Audax (which is, for the bulk of it, non-competitive) is that some people will be in a position such that they can put the record beyond pretty much everyone else. However, for the majority of people the points are there to encourage and push themselves, so the competitive nature does help further the goal of getting people to do more long distance cycling.

    Many people wondered if Steve A was going to enter his rides as DIY Audaxes but he made a decision not to. It would have only added extra pressure and admin, and would have prevented him from doing his now preferred loops of the TT circuit South of MK. But 300km a day for 365 days would have been 1095 points!
