  • If I wanted a change of career and wanted to work in the game sector what could I feasibly do with my skill set/experience?

I was a producer/reporter for news and current affairs TV, after which I did a stint writing spin/lies for prime ministers and presidents of ill repute, then I did nothing for a while, then I worked as an AD on a few feature films and big budget commercials, now I run a video production/video marketing business with 3 full time employees and various contractors, many freelancers. It does OK but it's near constant stress and headaches - whether that's due to my own ineptitude is up for discussion.

In terms of day to day activity, I produce, write and direct content, managing sometimes complex storylines and even more complex filming schedules and timetables, I pitch and handle account management, I can talk to different types of people without coming across like a fucking imbecile, I know when to shut up, I have a decent understanding of technical workflows (not to implement but enough to know not to ask for silly things in sh0rt time frames), and some other stuff.

I figure I could do some kind of project management role but not sure I'd even want to do that. I presume any creative roles that don't require advanced technical knowledge are A. few and far between and B. in rather hot demand.

Lastly, are there any companies in Brighton or within a 1 hour drive (I know there are lots of mobile gaming companies here but haven't seen any making anything I'd really want to jump into as a career change)?
