Not sure what you mean--do you mean the Mabledon Place (continuation of Marchmont Street)/Ossulston Street connection? (I wouldn't call it a staggered junction.) That's certainly doable, but an even longer detour if his ultimate destination is Pancras Road. Of course, it might work if he wanted to go further into Camden.

Ah thanks - yes that might well be better, didn't know that crossing existed.
-
• #19279
Yeah, that’s the one. It’s just how I get from work on Lambs Conduit to the BL if I’m riding a bike.

Nice will give it a whirl - thanks both.

First frosty crisp sunny morning ride of the year. Shame I'd left my new gloves at work last week so still managed to have cold fingers. Also need to get my foot game sorted. A taster of the long winter to come.

A lot of people without lights on the way home. Not sure if caught out or plain stupid?
-
• #19287
Do not underestimate how fucking stupid people are.

This evening, very dark lane, dark clothes, no lights... but spotted as he was reading his mobile while one-handed steering along. Lost for words.

Fuck me, is that what it was? Thought it was serious. Many people lost in the ad hoc diversions through back streets.

Undertaken at speed in slow moving traffic 8 times on the way home and cut up 3 times by cyclists turning across my front wheel.
Only reason i was in pootle mode was every single car was acting like a mentalist. 5 near collisions from vehicles just riding along in secondary as well.
Thought i was going to end up losing the plot before i got all the way home and go all 'falling down' on some dickheads

There has been an increase in the number of cunts trying to undertake while I'm moving out to overtake a bus. I've started being petty and holding a closer line to the bus. The law of averages say I have a good chance of possessing more mass than the offender so faced with either clattering into me or the bus, they usually end up hanging back.

The police are out catching RLJers on New Oxford St. I'm not sure why they didn't send a few further up the road and stop everyone from cycling through the closed off bus lane which makes them cycle down the pavement instead.

Got up at 6, roads clear, drafted a bus for a kay or so and he dropped me off perfectly for the next bus for another kay. Cruisin' baby yeah.

Think I have a kidney stone on the move again. Most pain, discomfort much. Nice weather, mind.

Brixton Road gas leak closure still in place this morning? Anyway grateful I attached the cord on my fly12 as my K-edge insert snapped as I hit a speed bump a bit heavily on the way down College Road today.

Bloody cars taking up so much space! Why do drivers think they own the road?! they don't even pay road tax!

Loved the women cycling in primary causing a jam behind her. she couldn't hear the beeping due to the massive cans stuck to her ears. Still was quite funny.
-
• #19299
No idea how people can cycle with cans on, I'm lost without ears.

always ride with a left earphone in with podcast/radio/audiobook on the go for a bit of entertainment. can hear all road noise to the right that way. have dabbled with both in and it's absolutely terrifying not being able to hear what's coming from behind.
It's a detour, but cuts out the turn you don't like: Coming up Gray's Inn Road, turn left into Argyle Street (one-way eastbound but with a cycle contraflow), continue all along until you swing right into the bit of Argyle Street that goes towards the A501, then use the cycle crossing. It's not very good, but it gets you across.
