I don't possess the ability to fact check this but some people are reporting that Trump has gained the thick end of half a million new Twitter followers in the last few days, the vast majority of which look rather bot like.
If true, almost like he is preparing somewhat of a Twitter offensive.

The Ivanka bit is the best. I guess the suggestion is that she ratted them out?

Just read the indictment. There's some pretty juicy stuff in there.
On a basic level, Trump hired a man who received $75m of payments to various companies based in Russia and Ukraine, lobbied on behalf of Ukraine in the USA, lied about his involvement and then proceeded to launder the cash.
Manafort, who at very least is now identified as an unregistered foreign agent, helped Trump pick his cabinet.
I mean, its not a smoking gun but as a first arrest its really not a good look for the orange twitler.

Presumably this is all to get Manafort to turn on Trump and enter witness protection for the rest of his life, rather than jail?

good thread saying exactly that : https://twitter.com/SethAbramson/status/924988111880417280

Yeah, the Prisoner's Dilemma point (bringing two people in together to play them off against each other) occurred to me when I saw the indictment.

Also helpfully sets out the key themes of money laundering to buy US property and evade tax.
Someone has already noted this indictment specifically does not include the apartment he owns in Trump Tower that he paid for in cash 2 years before the time period this covers, though the LLC he used to do it is listed.

Does anybody understand why there are a load of Trump supporters saying that these arrests are bad for Hillary and not Trump?

Fox et al are trying to make the narrative around Democrat collusion with Russia via paying for the Steele dossier, is my understanding.

• #4097
i.e. they're idiots.
-
• #4098
Or, that Mueller hasn't arrested Hilary is going to be the excuse for Trump to sack him.

George Papadopoulos pleads guilty to lying to the FBI about Hilary's emails. And that meeting. And Russia.

They've been spinning like crazy over the weekend. Bringing up all the uranium stuff etc.
Trump has a 'successful*' template down in Kentucky he could be following;

'*successful' = hard Right Republican policies enacted with the minimum of oversight.
