Does anyone have a set of 26.0 compact drops with a short reach for sale before I buy a set of piegas? Need to be 40 or 42cm wide.

I haz. 40cm Bontrager VR-C. OG. Not sure what the going rate is for them at the minute.

I've got a silver 42cm pair of Soma Highway 1s as the answer to the post above yours was that they don't fit in a DA stem!
Some scratches from attempted insertion but nothing bad and nothing that would be visible.

Know that experience too well, I even resorted to putting my bars in the freezer in an attempt to make them microscopically smaller. The fact the DA quill stem isn't split at the bar clamp so can't be prized open with the coin/bolt trick doesn't help.

I'd also be interested in these if ltc doesn't grab 'em

How wide is the clamp on that stem? Trying to work out if I'm likely to be able to fit these bars in what I have (and I might be interested in taking them off you if they're still there).

37.5mm sir. The bars are still available.

Actually, I'll pass for the minute thanks. TBH for riding round town, thumb-shifters have been a revelation, and I'm loathed to lose them. Might see if I can find a set of Gevanelles before trying drops again on that bike.

Lots of soap or other lubricant can help around the tightest spot. I had a hard enough time with a 3T Record 84 with thosr bars though so hard to imagine getting a DA through.

Yeah, that did not help. Made a mess of the kitchen with that one. :)
What classic 26mm bars with a shallow drop or flat top classic bend do I need to look at?

Tried a combination of fiddling, including freezing bars, heating stem and lubricating with dish soap, but no success.
I have a slightly scratched (but never fitted) 38cm Nitto M106 available is anyone is keen.

Soma Highway One

Some posts above say they do not fit either.

How about keeping the bars instead and getting a Nitto Dynamic stem? (Also a tight fit, but doable.)

Need the 7400 stem to match a 7400 seatpost.
Vanity good weather bike. :) -

Can you get a Piega or Soma Highway bar through a Cinelli XA stem?
I have a very nice XA stem here that would go well on a 531 bike I'm putting together. The bike has to have compact bars and I don't have any untaped ones here at the moment that I can try through it.

Nice beic. What is it?
Thanks. It's a rattle canned Columbus Thron frameset, originally sold by a local Dutch bike shop (Giovanni).

Deda piega bars through cinelli stem with hidden bolt, really tight on the bend but went through with some colourful language.

Has anyone successfully managed to run Deda piega bars with a 3TTT pro chrome stem?
Edit: has found answer

I had been having heart palpitations about getting my new set of 26.0mm x 420mm Nitto M109AA (in scratch sensitive black) into my 3ttt Status stem.
Turns out it was utterly unfounded. I spread the clamp with a coin and the bolt and the bars popped in with no more than a very slight bit of wiggling at one point on the bend (resulting in an insignificant scuff on the finish just above where the lever clamps will go).
Unless my stem later decides to spontaneously erupt following the stress of being spread I'd call it an extremely stress free affair!
I'm giving my '90s Colnago some TLC and making it a bit more practical in the process so want to fit it with some compact drop bars.
They HAVE to be silver and need to go in a Dura Ace hs-7400 stem - one of these with the hidden bolt:
It's a 26.0 stem so either Soma Highway 1s or the Dajia Cycleworks bars should work in theory. But reading this thread it seems that the Highway 1s might be a better bet for successfully fitting to the stem?
