Open drain cover or deep pothole shouldn't be written off as a possible culprit, having gone over the bars quick and easily due to one myself a few years ago. Glad you are recovering spotter.

Hi everyone,
Thank you all for the further comments and PM's, it's all so motivating to read. I had some aightly annoying news today after my visit to the surgeon today; I have to leave all my internal stitches in for the moment, as my lips haven't 'knitted' together enough yet. I was really hoping I'd be able to get them out, oh well. It'll delay things a bit but hopefully I'll still manage to get my teeth sorted for Xmas. Various other muscle damage / sprains seems on course for healing though which is good.
Good news - Nerve damage across my face seems to be progressing a bit too so that's good, hopefully I won't be without sensation for too long (I have people to annoy with tubeless whistling). The positive of this is that the time off the bike means I can do projects I've been putting off due to riding the bikes and I also did have all the outside stitches out.
Visually there's a huge difference, from before face is a bit wonky and I've lost about 6kg in weight* so I'm thinner but that's no bad thing. Scabs and swelling are all gone, I no longer look like David Guest / Sylvester Stallone's mother. I was going to post a few photos but I'm not sure how people are with blood etc.
Again, thank you, you're all so kind.
*Maybe I'll market the ' spotter diet TM ' - "no pills, no special foods - ask me how today!"

I thought you looked like Pete Burns after his multiple surgeries.

All sounds positive. Keep healing TFU.

I hope crashing your bike to discover you look like Sylvester Stallone's mother is as much epic lol for you as its description is for me.
Glad you've been zipped back together straight!

Good to see your keeping your sense of humor, healing can be a frustrating process. Was going to say "keep your chin up" but seems slightly inappropriate.

Pretty good, as it goes, I wasn’t even upset when they pulled the sausages out of that nice priest’s tummy in Gunpowder.
Crack on.

Don't rush the healing. Could save you a lot of makeup time for Halloween.

A year on and I've had my dental repairs finished. Hopefully I can draw a line under this finally.

Hope there are no lasting effects.

Happy anniversary!!!
Sounds rubbish. Glad you haven't died or done serious permanent damage. Get well soon.
