  • My Freddie Grubb is old enough to have a lamp holder braze-on on the fork.

Is there any sensible way to adapt this to mount modern lights, particularly ones with integrated (often rubber) straps that would normally wrap around the handlebars?

I'd like to use the braze on but don't want a gas lamp or Duracell torch hanging off it.

I suppose ideally I'd like something that connects securely to the braze on and gives a lipped tube extending a couple of inches to strap the light to.

  • I think @spotter used an offcut of steerer c/w star fangled nut to make a horizontal light mount, off of his rack.

Same thing should work for you, although matching the threads (forks might be Imperial) might be a problem.

  • That sounds like. Start but the lamp bracket thingy isn't threaded. It's like a mushroom. I can get a pic after the weekend. I'll try to Google one now.

    BRB.
