  • Cheers to you and @Soul for all the info, you guys have got big old bay windows in your living rooms which I'm assuming are a fair bit more pricey than a single sash window? Leaning more towards fitting them myself but you guys have definitely given me food for thought.

  • I measured and fitted them myself. It was waaaay cheaper and quite easy to fit - each frame is just a few screws, and the shutters fit straight in. If you're reasonable with a drill and caulk gun (ahem) you can probably do it.

    You obviously really need to take your time measuring - for example on our (victorian) bay window, the 'side' windows were different widths, the height of each pane was different, and the bottom sill wasn't level (so the height of the window was different depending on which side of the pane you measured :) All out by only 5ish mm, but the differences matter...

  • I've been checking out the measuring and fitting videos on the diy shutters site and it looks pretty straight forward, I've just got single sash windows so should be reasonably simple for measuring. Where did you get yours from?
