I just finished Black Hole by Charles Burns, been one I've meant to read for a long time, slightly bizarre but really good.
I really like Ed Brubaker's stuff (especially his work with Sean Phillips). Recommend The Fade Out (Hollywood noir set during the blacklisting/McCarthy period), Fatale (sort of horror/noir mash up) and Criminal (pulp/crime/thrillers). Current ongoing series is Kill or Be Killed, which I wasn't sure about at first but is great, after all.
Fade Out and KOBK feature gorgeous colours by Elizabeth Breitweiser.
Shade The Changing Girl was a recent recommendation by the great folks at GOSH! comics and it is simply delightful.
Any recommendations for some decent graphic novels? I read From Hell and really liked it.
