I think it was recently discussed, but it's worthy of repetition. I was getting wound up by this recently due to the current spate of ads with boring, twee covers of stuff that used to be good until it was irrevocably ruined forever, sending the oft-deceased original artist into a furious lateral spin within their grave.

We were on holiday in Mallorca. Every shop had this shit on playlist. Smooth jazz cover versions of Ace of Spades etc etc. Ersatz noise pollution.
