In that case what can you sell yours for preferably away from London then...look at what is cheap. Ford is usally cheaper. If you get a cit/pug I have a copy of the ecu software and cables.

Some kind of citroen c4? Or Ford focus. Or maybe fiat punto or brava? At the very least an Italian car should survive many dents and parking shunts.

Garage diagnosed problem with AC in V50 as damaged and leaking condenser unit. £450 + VAT. Wonder what Volvo would quote me...

Close to double?
I just had all brake discs and pads replace on my Saab 9-5 at an indy for £700. My aunt did her V50 at Volvo at the same time. £1200.

Sheesh. This is gonna be a long-term keeper and isn't worth much (2009 74kmiles) so I'm not going to keep bringing it to Volvo for the annual service stamps, unless they surprise me with a reasonable quote for the AC, which I've just requested from them.
If not, I'm just going to wait until my next annual service is due in February and get the local garage to do that and fix the AC at the same time - see if I can't get some loyalty discount. CSB

The Grand Espace is still a formidable non-Van van,
(can get 8ft sleepers in the back with all the seats out,
admittedly with the rear hatch ratchet-strapped down),
and carries bikes with ease.
The last couple of weeks have been the first time I have worked in the Congestion Charge zone in probably a decade. (I have previously taken your time-based advice, and either passed though, or arrived before the CZ started at 7AM).Eventually the RGE will fall foul of the enlarging of the zone for the T-Charge,
(logically it should be the entire area bounded by the M25, despite some of that area not being 'London'), so maybe I should be looking for a spacious smaller vehicle, Honda FR-V/MB 'A'-series etc, or a Town Car, Peugeot 107, rather than something, (C4 Grand Picasso) that cannot compete with the RGE.
Thank you for the offer of the ecu gear should I end up with a PSA vehicle.
Are you based in London? -

Pound to Euro is not so helpful right now...

Google your local mobile air con person. They’re often cheaper and more convenient.

Top speed of 135mph, probably at about 9krpm.
So that’s just under 5000rpm at 70mph. An ideal motorway cruiser.

See that Porsche lot have settled with the daughter of Paul Walker? Probably just want the whole thing gone. I'm sure there are legit reasons to sue manufacturers in certain cases but hooning a race car for the road on old tyres then blaming a faulty seatbelt (how can they tell in a torched car?) can't be one of them.

the gearbox in my rally car does 106mph at 7600rpm.
I need to build a 9000rpm bottom end

Pft.
Call that short gearing?
An old racey racey car I had did 10.1mph/1000rpm in top and ran into the limiter at 129mph.

New bottle, not fixed (unsurprisingly) but more repeatable symptoms. In use coolant stays at level, thermostat opening blah blah blah. The second you kill the engine it literally drinks the coolant down. So, would it be correct to assume cylinder pressure being greater than coolant pressure is keeping it the right side of the head gasket, until cylinder pressure goes when the engine is killed and then coolant pressure wins?https://www.instagram.com/p/BarU3zhAzDB/

Hmmm, cruisey. My Striker does 9mph/1000rpm, and runs into the limiter at 118mph and 12,500rpm.
I take it that was your Fury R1? What diff did you have fitted in that?
-
• #37797
Yep. 3.54 live axle. I went for balloony 205s on the back to maximise the gearing. I think they were 70 profile.

• #37798
I had to put 15s on to make 111mph at 8000rpm
I could do with be able to do about 120-130mph in top so either need to find a taller final drive or build a 9krpm bottom end to suit
Final Drive ratio 4.000 Gear Ratio 1st 2.818 2nd 2.077 3rd 1.688 4th 1.412 5th 1.211

Ah I mean that having thr name of the tyre model have the word "eco" in thr title is not a pre requisite. Had a run of "eco" titled tyres around 2009/11 on various work vehicles and were imo, all dangerously low on grip compared to any run of the mill tyre theat wasn't fitted by company contract hire garage. (all mk5 golf gt tdi and e320 cars, about 30 odd of them, so very useful to be able to jump in one with different tyres and compare difference back to back on same roads on same days).
I imagine the eco branded stuff has moved on (blue response by maxxis seem to be a good one?).Based on last few days of looking prob just going to get uniroyal rain expert 3. Saw a set in thr flesh on another bluemotion polo nearby, owner said they were best tyre he's had on it, and he's had iy since 2009 new.previous tyres were always what thr dealership fitted(most recently conti eco contact 3 or 5 I think he said).

Runflats. Any way to tell which one has lost pressure after a dash warning? Mrs Hammer has topped all four up but didn’t notice which one was flat (used one of the preset pressure air machines).
Budget?
