  • I received this one lately, a 2018 Longitude in XL. It's going to be a 27,5+ 1x10 Deore winter commuter / bikepacking / instagram build. I'm still waiting for rims, chainring and some other minor small parts to arrive.

  • My 2015 Day-one.. I love the way this thing rides..

  • Sorry missed this, yes as I understand it the frame comes with a steel fork, you can purchase the carbon one separately.

  • I'm really pleased with my CDF so far, I wasn't expecting too much from a cheapish steel frame, the ride quality on 32mm tyres is great, the longer wheel base makes it a really stable ride too. It's pretty much perfect for Audax. Its not that heavy either considering.

  • Are they low-rider rack mounts I can see? They look very low on the fork.
Doh. Can see from your earlier image they are for Mudguards

  • Not sure, there are mudguard bosses at the bottom of the fork, Genesis handily describe them as 'accessory mounts'.

I just used the ones higher up the leg as it meant I didn't need to mess about bending the stays to get round the disc caliper, just used some spacers and a longer bolt to clear it.

  • Cheers. That’s great info. I was thinking about gorilla cages as an option.

  • Anyone know max tire size on an equilibrium disc with guards?

  • 28s, mine size up as 30mm and are still fine.

  • cheers mate.

Ideally looking to run 32s and guards, steel. any alternatives other than CDF?

  • Cotic escapade?

  • @Alan_tbt if you want some gorilla cages cheap I have a pair going spare

  • my day one

  • All City Macho Man disc?

  • My Longitude build is progressing slowly. Bottom bracket is still a placeholder, I need to do some cable management etc. Quality feels solid, there's enough tyre/chain clearance with 3" Schwalbes and I still really like the colour.

  • My new Day One - just waiting for Alfine cranks.

And a brief history of my Croix de Fer, which I've had for over 5 years now.

It hasn't had a happy life recently following my crash. However today I was told that it looks like the frame is OK, so I may just swap the forks for some black Surly disc trucker forks.

BTW If anyone happens upon one of the 853 High latitude 29er frames in XL do let me know, I've always wanted one!

I just wasted 10 minutes looking at road frames too, I definitely don't need one.

  • CDA 20 revitalised with sram apex 1, kinesis crosslights, gravel king small knobs. Ready for the grime

  • This looks like so much fun!

  • Anyone happen to have seen a shop in north London stocking a Smithfield so I can take it for a test ride and figure out the sizing? Gonna go and try out a Day One at the weekend but my local never seems to have much other than that and the CdF. Right now most of my head is saying to just get a Day One and the rest is whispering about how pretty the Flyer looks this year.

  • Volare running Sram Force
