Bluemels come with a solution?
There is a clip that attaches to the mudguard and a clip to go over the top of the chainstay bridge.

Oh, right. Sweet. Thanks for that!

I got a set of those new bontrager ones for my genesis equilibrium disc. Needed a diy spacer on the caliper side and a hole drilling to bolt to the brake bridge, but good solid fitting guards. Managed to get 28mm tyres into the 25mm max guards with no rubbing. The larger ones wouldn't fit through the fork or brake bridge.

Also got some cheapo fwe ones for my commuter that were a bit more fiddly to fit but didn't need any bodging. Just needs a crankset and chain now (which should be here tomorrow) and I'll be mobile again

I only seem to have these bits, and can't work out how it will hold it?

It's illustrated in diagram C, in your photo: the tube is clamped between the mudguard (reinforced by the flat plate) and the curved plate.

It doesn't seem to work though. What holds the curved plate to the bridge? The screw doesn't seem anywhere near long enough either
-
• #3210
You do mean the chainstay bridge? Can you take a picture of it
-
• #3211
Looks like the bolt just goes through the mudguard and 2 fixings then the rounded bit clips around the tube onthe frame. The bolt doesn't go through the frame itself.

I think I do! I'm not sure...

Looks about right, now just snug it up.
Of course, a p-clip would be a much more stable solution. -

Need some inspiration to make some flaps for LadyLizโs commuter.
Anyone got a pic of a sweet 3 flap setup on 26โ?
Will be going on sks p65. Guess I want 3mm nitrile and a rivet gun?
Any flap artisans made templates or are they all fully bespoke?
Also, skirt guards for maximum coverage, this winters 4th flap?Liz doesnโt ride in massive Victorian skirts obviously but wondering if the additional coverage would be noticeable. -
• #3215
Skirt guards would probably be more effective with SKS than GB/Honjo type fenders because of the way the stays are attached.

Where can one buy p clips in person? Any type of trade shop or plumbers or electrical accessory shop?
-
• #3217
P-clips ftw. Just done likewise.
-
• #3218
Your guard needs to actually pass the widest point on the bridge for that clip to work.

Iโve a spare one I can post you FOC. Pm me :-)

Also leather washers
This made a massive difference that the alu and steel mudguard remain problem free for years.

Just trim off the edge and push it in.

With regards to PDW mudguards, has anyone tried to fit x25 tyres under the x23 width fenders, or is there absolutely not enough clearance?
-
• #3223
Mudguards are all nearly the same thickness. Whether you can get 25s under those guards depends solely on your frame, nothing to do with the width of the guard. Whether they will provide you with adequate protection from spray is another thing.

Cheers. My wheel sits mid-way in the dropout, plus I run slicks which seems to direct all the water to the centre of the tyre anyway, or at least, that's how it looks.
P clip?
