Sheesh. This is gonna be a long-term keeper and isn't worth much (2009 74kmiles) so I'm not going to keep bringing it to Volvo for the annual service stamps, unless they surprise me with a reasonable quote for the AC, which I've just requested from them.
If not, I'm just going to wait until my next annual service is due in February and get the local garage to do that and fix the AC at the same time - see if I can't get some loyalty discount. CSB

Close to double?
I just had all brake discs and pads replace on my Saab 9-5 at an indy for £700. My aunt did her V50 at Volvo at the same time. £1200.
