  • Does anyone know how tricky it is to swap the hoses over? Is it a matter of just undoing the bolts at the lever end and swapping, or is there re-bleeding etc required? I am happy enough with MTB hydro, but haven't worked on road ones yet. @Howard maybe?

Check the hoses are long enough before you try. The 'dale MTBs I've got were all hosed up that way, and the main problem was that the front brake hose was simply not long enough to just swap to the RHS. Meant new hoses that meant new fittings that meant rebleeding etc.

Yours might if you are lucky have those connectormajig things on them?

  • Ahh... good point thanks. I don't have the connectors on mine but I think it should be ok as I will be dropping the stem a fair bit.

If that is the case, is it a simple unscrew and swap, or am I going to get fluid everywhere?

No promises but if you use gravity to your advantage you might be OK. Maybe ask someone in the disc brake thread? I've not worked on those levers.
