My PDWs came with a small strip of clear adhesive plastic which goes between the guard and the metal clip, presumably to dampen vibration and prevent over tightening. I'm wondering if Ho's guards had this bit of plastic?
My PDWs also use the weird lever bracket which holds the mudguard some distance from the brake bridge, unlike Ho's. It's uglier/fussier but probably allows the guard to wobble more than the direct attachment at the bridge.

That was the bit which broke on @Cycliste's bike. It wobbled. It snapped.
@HoKe and other people.
