Having owned many many sports watches and more than a few forerunners, bottom like is that Garmins are fucking shit. My next watch will be a Suunto.
Just as a counterpoint, I've had one Forerunner 405 which is approaching it's sixth birthday and has had a handful of twitchy moments it's entire life.

My 310xt is going strong almost 7 years later as well, although there’s more chance of them finding MH370 in one piece than that thing finding satellites quickly, and an ANT+ sync still takes longer than one of my long runs. It works... it’s just shite. Customer support is atrocious, luckily it’s no longer a one brand market.
