  • I own both, got the edelux II on the fixie, it gives a fantastic beam which extends plenty far enough for fixed gear commuting but it will not illuminate anything above waist height.

The triple is mounted on an old cross bike, it’s crazy bright and fine for fast off road in the woods. I have a ten mile gently downhill return from the pub so I probably hit hippy speed and provided you aim the bright centre far enough away it’s a great beam, angle it down and you get the problem where you can see all the detail in the very bright centre but nothing beyond it. The light is uncontrolled so it will dazzle anything coming towards you and I’m sure Ed will be along soon to tell you it’s not road legal in Germany.

It depends what you want to do with them as they both do a different job very well.

Build quality they are both excellent, both get soaked and covered in mud on a regular basis and both stand up to it well.

    Both powered by Son28.

Is that ever likely to be a problem for road use? Which one throws the furthest beam?

  • Triple throws the furthest, edelux throws a dimmer but more controlled beam which is plenty far enough off road at 15 or on road at 20mph.
