Have the same problem (f&r), I've been trying the increase the size of the hole to be able mount them higher. Not had a lot of luck yet, do to the lack of the right tools. Will post up if I get it to work.

Had to do the same to get it even close with the Radial clip ins (22mm tyres). Still tweaking to avoid it rubbing.

I’m still not having any luck making the holes bigger.

Files and drills don’t seem to touch them! :(
