Dan didn’t says any issues with components so it sound like the 14-28 6 speed with 46/30 chainset and Dura Ace 7400 derailleurs actually work well.

Was worried about the 16t capacity as older derailleur aren’t really designed for this in mind.

Even the modern stuff struggles with that big a jump. Really curious to see this mate, seems like you've thought out ever aspect of the bike in accordance to how you ride. What chainrings did you use?
