Without wishing to be an insufferable negative nancy (just call me nancy) brass isn't going to stop that propagating, and welding it will create an unsuitable HAZ, so not sure how salvedgable it is without new seat tube :(
Hey there,
My polo frame has cracked (again) where the seat stays join the seat tube. it's been fixed before by just wacking a load of braze onto it and I'm looking for someone to repeat the process - the last fix lasted 4 years which is pretty good going I think. Spoke to a frame builder the other day and he said he thought the best course of action would be just to take off as much of the existing braze as possible with a wire angle grinder attachment and then put some more braze on. Not looking for anything particularly fancy, a bodge job is fine.
If anyone's up for doing it then send me a quote.
Best,
Robbie
