Not so current as it's been built for a week but here's my new Ogre. Will be loading it up in the next couple of weeks to do a Scottish Borders bothy tour.

Seattube bend (I'm not imagining it am I?) plus bendy seatpost is doing funny things to my eyes. Cool build though!

after I won mine, I actually did some research and saw that Hardrocks are bottom-of-the-line. Mine's so bloody heavy!
I still wonder if Β£80 is a fair price for that Rockhopper tho... I might have overpaid.

Not sure how far yet, will probably do the Capital Trail in reverse down to Cappercleugh and then from there Talla. There's a cluster of 7 bothies in that area. Probs home towards Galashiels and the Tweed Valley. Maybe 300 miles?
Yeah, rack is Loctited to buggery - hope you're healing up buddy!

I did the first ~80km of the Capital Trail last weekend, it was the second hardest ride I've ever done. Headwinds from hurricane Ophelia as soon as we got out of Edinburgh. Had to call it off and get on the train back at Stow rather than continuing down to Tweedbank/Galashiels/Melrose as planned. Beautiful though, and I think the second half is supposed to be even nicer.
Edit: also my feet got very wet riding through streams/etc. so plan for that with plenty of socks and so on
Edit: also I had to walk some bits with 34/42 being my lowest gear. You might be fitter than me though.

Ahh yeah, the weather was crap last weekend! Are you Edinburgh based?
Luckily I have a week of annual leave coming up so can just head off from my house whenever the weather forecast looks best for 3 or 4 days.

And 30/46 is my lowest gear ;)

The difference between a 700c wheel with a 38mm tyre and a 26" with 2.25 is 24.7mm.
Does that mean a 2.5cm lowering in BB when chucked on a bike?

In less gate sized cad purchaes - I picked up this 2.8 R600 today and since riding it home am torn what to do with it - so looking for suggestions:
It came with a weird mix of 105 derailleur/sram apex/rx100 shifters and brakes. I've got (what I assume is) the original rx100 chainset also.
My original plan was to set up with risers and flat pedals to commute on Γ la:
But it fits very well and seems a shame to not have set up with drops/clipless.
I've sram on my cross bike and find the shimano rx100 shifting really awkward and would much rather sram shifters (I guess with flat bar route this matters less).
Should I puppy kill and risers gonna rise + rack - or should I build it like so?
^ Neato!
Personally i would've switched the saddle to a black one as that now is a bit too busy to look at.
