Do such tours ever still happen or have you all grown too old and comfortable? Does that big broom wagon still exist?

They still happen, but they're a lot less hardcore than they used to be. @Cycliste dismissively refers to them as Spa7 rather than Tour7. AFAIK Betsy 2 the recovery vehicle is still going strong.

I'm half considering relieving Hugh the Poo of his half-finished Fury and am busy trying to think when and where I'd actually ever drive it.

If I ever finished it.

Which I probably never would.

A monster Euro tour is the only sort of thing I can think of.
