Some times PUBG is utter shit to play. Other times you luck a brilliant round. First off the plane just for laughs and landed in the mil base. Picked up a vector with silence and 2x scope along with v3 armour/helmet/bag. Sit up in the con tower while Mrs CYOA 'wants to talk' thinking that by the time I'm finished it'll be game over. I return and I'm still alive. I start running assuming I'll meet a hail of bullets but nothing. North I run towards the white line with the blue line munching up the metres behind me and I realise I need to cross the river which is usually death if you're on roads or death if you try to swim. I opted for the swim in the hope there'd be a boat there. There was! Nipped across and did a handbrake turn to land knowing that I'd get out on the left side (which, having turned would be the side facing the river). Lucky for me as there was someone in the bushes who immediately starting spraying rounds at me as soon as I'd got out. Behind cover though I didn't get hit, then crawled around the far side and using the scope on the vector silently picked him off. As I was doing so another boat landed nearby and somehow hadn't seen the action as the player got out and ran inland. I followed for a while and watched him take a few shots inland. I used his noise to get a bit closer and vectored him too. Then I kept running north and north, just making it to consecutive white lines. At the top of a hill I take care to stay low as I crest and spot a black dot in the very distance that looks like it could be a bush or it could be a player crouching aiming at me. I go prone and whip out the scope. As I do so I see a tiny muzzle flash on the shadow. Clearly it's a player as I hear bullets land near by. 2 hit me but I manage to jump and strafe to cover by a rock where I use a first aid kit to get back up to 70. I can still see him up there probably with a 4x scope and a decent sniper rifle but decide he's too far away for me to hit and, more's the point, the blue line is closing on him faster than it's closing on me so I run to the white again. I turn and look around and see him fall as he gets chewed by 'the zone'. 2 or 3 zones later without seeing other players close enough to worry about I'm at (what I think will be) the last zone which is a wide natural amphitheatre. I can see a few trees around the skyline (I'm at one of them prone watching it all) and several other unmistakable player shadows are doing similar things by trees/rocks etc with absolutely no cover in the centre. A buggy recklessly drives in and the guy gets out. Gunfire echoes from all around the valley and he falls in a plume of red mist. Then another guy tries to run to the centre. Same thing. Then I check how many players are left - 4 - shit - I could win this. Then the fucking zone changes and is miles away. Mrs CYOA "would like a hand" so I think, fuck it, and just run. I hear a few rounds land nearby but nothing hits. I climb the little hill to find another buggy there - 2 players left - could the only other player be camped on the other side of it? I cautiously creep around, yes! I fire. Point blank with the vector and somehow don't hit him enough to kill him. He whips round and headshots me with an SKS.
