I disagree. We are currently threatening that people won't get to play their games, and I suspect many people will have to forfeit games because they won't play inside the window.
It is worse to stops games which the players are keen to play, because of an arbitrary time window, than it is for games not to get played because of lack of motivation. Those games still won't happen in this format (the same people are still lazy/uncommunicative), and the only people that are harmed are the players themselves.
