  • That grey would look ace with lufguss blue racing stripes....

  • raf blue is an interesting suggestion - cheers

  • I used to do car shoots with the Mitsubishi factory in Adelaide. Even the workers called them "abitsamissing"

Srsly tho, asx is not a car I'd ever look at but Mitsubishis do handle neglect and are built reasonably well. When things break they are cheap to fix. Did you drive it on the motorway? Can't imagine it's the most solid thing at 70mph

  • Raf blue would be ace.

Also, great pic of the 3 Wheeling mg

  • mockingbird pink or gtfo

  • yep, that would go down like a shit sandwich...

  • Too many red, BRG and OOW ones around. The blue and grey look great.

  • Got to be gorgeous baby blue (TM)

  • Hey all,

Anyone here (I imagine there are a few) owned a 90's Mini?

Have longed for one for as long as I can remember and now I am in the position of being able to get one and making some use of it, I have decided it is time to commit.

I have little car skills, although wouldn't be averse to learning some and am wondering if a mini would be too much work and hassle?

Equally, I have never driven one. Are they even worth considering? Am I just blinded by their sheer Britishness (non-UKIP Britishness don't worry) and a childhood dream?

    Thanks,

    TC

  • They are noisy, slow, absolutely tiny, you bounce around like a pea on a snare drum, miniscule boot, and hideously overpriced with fanboy-tax.
    They're great.

  • +1 minis rule. rust is the killer though.

  • millions of red ones, for sure. had a green one and I don't really like the white. osselli have started to build their own fia cars in iris blue, so there are more and more of them, too.

  • Ivory.

    Ivory.

    Ivory.

The grey is funky, but not on a beegee, needs to be right for the era.

  • Chelsea grey is correct for the year:

  • This is how I look at it. If it was my choice, we wouldnt be buying an SUV at all, but it's not my choice unfortunatley!

From all the offerings we looked at the Mitsubishi was the best looking, was comfiest inside, had a decent spec, the best inside space to exterior size ratio, Mitsubishis seem to be known for being reliable, came with a 2 year main dealer warranty, and overall, it was by far the best VFM.

It does a job. Nothing more, which slightly depressingly, is all I want from a car these days.

  • grumble grey + whitewalls = winrar

  • The blue. Love that. Grey probs second. But every other car is grey these days. Bring back strong colours I say. More peas dear?

  • Whitewalls look shite.

Gloss grey is so 2016/2017. I reckon flip colours will be back in 2018.

    San Marino Blue.

  • Great car to own for a while, I learnt to "wrench" on cars on my 1993 Mini, and it opened my eyes to how easy some stuff is that I used to think was really hard before I tried.

Definitely spend as much as you can on getting one with the least rust, and know that rust will always be a problem unless it's been fully restored/rebuilt in which case rust will still be a problem, just in 5 years rather than next year.

  • BMW Yas Marina blue

  • I'm not gonna put whitewalls on it, you fannies

it would probably be the only Chelsea Grey fia mgb in the world, which is something...

I prefer the Grampian grey tho

  • the mgb only came out in five colours in 1962. can you guess them?

  • Rich Tea
    Bruised Skinflap
    Red Like Lozenges
    Sea Lord's Blazer
    Mock Turtle

  • It does a job. Nothing more, which slightly depressingly, is all I want from a car these days.

Perfect candidate for an SUV/people carrier. It's the sign to the world that you've given up all hope.

  • Raspberry Fool
    NHS Beige
    Crushed Burgundy
    Earl of St Clements Mandarin
    Sir Digby Chicken Caesar
