You say you're already getting bits of memory back. I think if your total memory loss was only one week, you may recover most of it. I've certainly heard of cases where that happened. As you say, the drab week may not be worth it, but it would be worth having a memory of the moments before the crash, especially if there were really no witnesses.
I take it that it must have happened at the speed hump right outside the Tufnell Park Primary School gate? As you say, a dooring is certainly possible, but it's probably wise to be satisfied with the simpler explanation and not speculate. You don't say if your wheel was damaged, though--I really have no idea, but I'd expect it to have been shredded at least a bit if the rack got in there? Then again, perhaps it's precisely indicative of the sudden stopping force generated if it wasn't.
