I'm considering having a partner move in - not be added to the mortgage yet (would probably look at that in a few years when remortgage time arrives).
How does it work in terms of them paying a notional 'rent' contribution? I am assuming the "rent a room" tax exemption doesn't apply when the room is shared? Not sure what to type into Google for this...
(I'd of course inform my lender, insurer and council of the change in residents)
