Nice, any more info on what this is?

What are those cranks? New 105 or non-series? FD is the new Shimano style.
-
• #1531
Looks like the new Kona Rove. Non series shimano cranks.
-
• #1532
Makes sense with just 'Shimano' on them. Never seen them before though.
-
• #1533
Why the monster (uncomfortable) seatpost? Dropper ready perhaps?

Do ppl know Landy? You say that like ppl know landy.. They're doing cool things, and are getting better and better taste imo. More adventure stuff, and playful stuff. Bigger tires essentially..

• #1535
Seems like they've been looking over your shoulder ;)

I used to work at their skateboard factory in Vancouver actually. Mike the owner was pretty stoked on my 29er fixed gear too, so could be ;)

To make the transition between flattened top tube and seat tube better looking and easier to weld. Could be shimmed easily to 27.2 seat post

Any views on the 2018 four corners? It looks very awesome for the money (I’ve seen somewhere between 850 and 890) https://www.marinbikes.com/gb/bikes/four-corners-blue

Only potential flaws I can see - no thru axles and the overall weight
-
• #1540
Looks good on paper. Personally, I'd not be that fussed about thru axles. It's never going to be a weight weenie bike, so unless it's an absolute tank...?
-
• #1541
I mean is 12-13 kg tank territory?
-
• #1542
I'd say that's pretty heavy. But if you're worried about weight you'd be looking at the S-works Diverge or something similar. Its 8.4kg.

I guess lighter 650b wheels (e.g hunt wheels) would cut a lot of the weight down. If you could get it into a 10-11 kg region that’d be perfectly tolerable
I’d guess something like 1.9 kg for the stock wheels wouldn’t be ab unreasonable guesstimate

Don't hunt use kinlin rims, I'd build my own on some Hopes or something.

Rutland Cycling have the 2017 model for £500 with their £50 off voucher code.
Similar to the 2018 model, apart from a few less braze ons, having the old Sora groupset and a slight change in geometry I think, but you could end up with quite a bit of money to play with/upgrades.

Bitex not hopes
-
• #1547
Yeah but hope freehub noise...
-
• #1548
...is really fucking annoying. Makes fettling the rear disc an absolute ballache. Theyre also generally overpriced for what they are. Bitex centrelocks do everything the new hopes do for half the price

You've changed man

Bitex rear, Schmidt SON front
