Its quite a weird feeling to observe a bunch of internet people being highly critical of somebody you used to know pretty well in real life. Celebrity is a weird thing.

• #49555
has his behaviour in any way made you reassess your opinion of him? it probably ought to, he's not exactly covered himself in glory of late.
-
• #49556
It shouldn’t. If he knew him before he was famous as a regular flawed individual, that’s what he remains. We know him through his standing in the cult of celebrity where we expect everyone to be an exemplary role model. He’s no role model so he’s a cunt.
-
• #49557
Perhaps a bit. I haven't seen him in years so maybe he has changed.
That said, each and every one of us has been a cunt at some point and we all make mistakes. Many of us aren't in a situation where our cuntish moments make it on to hundreds of blogs and celebrity sites. How anybody can think that a Weinstein joke is going to go down well I don't know.
He could be a cunt, he might not be. No way I can guess.

I knew him through one of my oldest friends who went to school with him. We hung out quite regularly right up until around the end of his Gavin and Stacey days. He was never anything other than a very likeable and nice chap when I was with him. Infectiously likable tbh.

He's got a fucking OBE?!? Meaningless award but WTF did he do to deserve that!?!?!?
Amazing...

I was quite pleased to see yesterday's announcement about life sentences for drivers who kill, but upon reading the Ministry of Justice press release on it, I had barely read five lines before face palming. Wtf is this line?!
"part of government action to make roads safer for all and stop devastation caused by dangerous drivers and cyclists"
Devastation caused by cyclists? Now one guy has been made an example of, we're now dealing with general devastation?

Can we blame Michael McIntyre as well? Just in case.

Good news for music fans!
(Callous joke aside, I hope he makes a quick recovery).

He only needs to strum for a couple of seconds on each of his songs. No brainer, no problem.

Possibly good for cyclists? Imagine if he directs his army of screaming teenage girls to harass the government about the state of cycling in the UK. Politicians would have Amsterdam-style cycle lanes constructed within a week just to shut them up

Tory cunt, (remember he flew back to the UK to vote against a Lords amendment delaying one of Osbornes more heinous crimes/policies), dismayed to be publicly identified as the typical Tory cunt who fails to understand the responsibilities of the House of Lords.
Quits to spend more time with his money. -

I think you're overestimating the power of the teenage girl lobby, but I don't disagree that high profile incidents might actually lead to change. Ed Sheeran is good start, but imagine Prince Harry being crushed by an HGV? That would be [redacted]!

Diana's death hasn't improved driving
-
• #49569
Yes, but the princess assassination problem seems to have been solved. I'm struggling to think of another princess that the government has murdered since Diana.

Maybe in that tunnel or by paparazzi it has.

The live action version of Cindarella was tantamount to murder.

Is it even worth him quitting? He only bothered turning up to a handful of votes.
-
• #49573
My understanding of the article is that he thought his ennoblement was purely honorific,
and,
he was grossly disgruntled when George Osborne/ the Tory HoL Whips started reminding him he was meant to show up and vote when so instructed. -

Long-time Nazi finally comes out as being gay and Jewish:

http://hopenothate.org.uk/2017/10/17/longest-secret-comes-end/I saw the interview on C4 news last night, and there's something very odd about the whole thing. Maybe it's my disbelief that someone could delude themselves about something for so long, maybe it's the whole "I compartmentalised it for years until it was directed at me" or maybe it's the fact that he's currently on bail for race hate offences, but something about the whole situation is just off. Fascinating story though.

predictable behaviour from the barely assembled tory scum.
