  • Yea it aint easy. IMO the surly racks are a bit busy too look at. Also kinda seems like an over engineered adjustment/mounting system. The 24pack can get away with it because of its size and machoness, but its almost overkill on the 8pack, considering its more elegant size. But then again, stiffness and weight and size are pretty important boxes, which the 8pack ticks.

    Thanks! @togas and @MisterMikkel :)

Heres what she got. Shes mega stoked to say the least! (there was also a pair of Fjällräven pants and a bag of Haribo Matador mix in the frame bag)

Trimming cables and dialing in fit is the next step. Then of course a good bike camping trip :D

  • Looks amazing!

Just wondering with the pizza rack - do you think you could attach it in a way that would still allow you to use a 3-bolt anything cage or even a 2-bolt bottle cage?

Otherwise, looks very clean and sits at a perfect height. I've got the 29er (L) Piolet and am debating a front rack for it.

  • Thanks! I was hoping the same before I bought it, but I cant really see a good way to do it tbh. The lowest part of the rack sort of spoils the mounts.

But if you think about it, its no big deal! When panniers are mounted, anything cages are pointless.. And if your not using panniers, then whatever you'd be strapping to the anything cages could mostly likely be strapped along the bottom of the rack anyways.

The way i see it, anything cages will be rad for a lighter trip with rougher terrain, where a rack may take away from fun shit while riding. Frame bag, seat pack, and two anything cages is a nice light weight setup im looking forward to trying.
